CiaO's Media takes on TRIple Fundraising Challenge

We can exclusively reveal that, CiaO Foundation's media and online marketing manager is taking on a grand challenge this year in aid of our charity and two other outstanding organisations. Jamie McGhee is aiming to complete three full sprint triathlons, and another three as part of a team in 2017.

A typical Sprint Triathlon consists of a swim of 750 metres, a cycle of 20 kilometres and ending in a run of about 5 kilometres.

Jamie has been helping us in the last year tell the foundation's story, through our website and social media channels. Though now he has a big story of his own to tell, as inspired by CiaO's own “Challenge is an Opportunity” motto and such amazing physical feats as the 401 marathon challenge he has set himself with his daunting challenge for this coming year.  To some, it may not necessarily be a mammoth task but Jamie does have a few current hurdles of his own to overcome in taking on this big challenge, that others might relate to. He himself says that he is “overweight, unfit, at an age were these factors are just increasing potential health risks and not exactly brimming with confidence or motivation”.

However, he is remaining very positive and has his sights firmly set upon the opportunities that taking on this epic task will provide.

“It is big, intimidating even, but I am doing it for the experience with the hopeful results being a much healthier me and some much needed funds raised for three amazing charities.”

The three charities that Jamie is fundraising for are;

  • The Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT),
  • Bristol Drugs Project (Bdp)
  • and ourselves, The CiaO Foundation (CiaO).

 We want to thank Jamie for his efforts and truly wish him well with his 2017 challenge.
