Next Primrose Award Application Deadline - 29th of March 2017

Next Trustee Meeting

The end of this month will see the next meeting of the CiaO Foundation's Trustees. As part of that meeting nominations and applications for the next round of Primrose Award presentations will be discussed and finalised.

We at the CiaO Foundation firmly believe that from every Challenge there is an Opportunity. The aim of the Foundation is to help & support people to overcome challenges in their lives. We also want to recognise those who have successfully conquered their own challenges and are advising others on how they overcome them.

We provide Primrose Awards, which are the CiaO Foundation’s unique award scheme. The aim is to provide practical assistance (upon successful application) to nominated individuals in meeting challenges and seizing the opportunity from the experience. If you know someone that is experiencing particular challenge in their life then why not nominate them for a Primrose award, before the 29th of March 2017 to be considered for the next round of Primrose Award submissions.

Tom's Primrose Award

Tom is a young man who was nominated by the Cumbria Wheelchair Sports Club (CWSC) for a Primrose Award. This formidable 17 year old, has faced quite a few tough challenges in his growing  life, having severe Spina Bifida, combined with recent major spinal surgery leading to low self esteem. All of this set Tom back quite a bit and he was at one stage about to give in and let his challenges beat him. Though, with the support of the CWSC he has excelled in the sport of wheelchair basket ball and, as a result, has been selected by Team GB to to train with their under 23 elite wheelchair basketball squad.
