New Specialised WaterSki For Inspiring Primrose Award Recipient

Sophie Elwes is an admirable young lady that seems to excel in finding opportunities from her challenges in life. In 2011 Sophie became paralysed and a wheelchair user after a severe spinal cord injury. Highly determined though, it is something that has not stopped her. Currently, she has set herself the goal to compete for Great Britain in waterskiing at the world championships in 2021. This is a challenge that we at the CiaO Foundation have been happy to help her with. As such we are pleased to announce we have presented Sophie with a #PrimroseAward of a new specialised waterski and cage to aid her training and competing.

“I used my new ski on the water for the first time! It’s a brilliant piece of kit and suits me perfectly!”

1st Class Honours for Primrose Award Recipient

Picture of Rob CammEarlier this year we were pleased to present a special Primrose Award to an exemplary, bright and adept young man, Rob Camm. [Read his story here]. Rob is paralysed from the neck down and reliant on a ventilator for his breathing. At the time, he was studying at Bristol University aiming to qualify as a lawyer and this summer he achieved great success and graduated with top honours in his course. He has now started a law conversion course at the University of Law in Bristol.  We sincerely wish Rob all the best with his amazing and exciting new challenges.

See and read more about Rob's achievement in the media at The Bristol Post, The BBC, ITV, and Channel 4 News.
